Slow Replies: What Is Actually Going Unanswered?

A person who usually texts after a shift is different from someone whose communication abruptly changes. Check whether the gap repeats and whether something relevant has changed.

Work, sleep, travel, time zones, phone access, and writing preferences all affect timing. An export does not supply those circumstances.

Fictional example: “Sunday works, I’ll book it” arrives after six hours. Another person replies in two minutes with an emoji, leaving the same invitation unresolved.

The first is slower but answers the question. Evaluate what the reply contributes as well as when it arrives.

Textopsy calculates elapsed gaps when the sender changes, including overnight and long breaks. A few long intervals can pull the average upward even if most replies are quick.

The reply-time page includes a browser calculator for manual observations. Check an average alongside the median and range if you have several comparable replies; do not treat those summaries as a measure of feelings.

For time-sensitive plans, say when you need an answer. For a recurring frustration, ask how both of you prefer to keep in touch.
