Ghosting Detector: Check the Gaps Without Guessing the Motive

The term usually describes a person ending contact without explaining. A quiet evening, an unanswered closing comment, and repeated disappearance after making plans are different situations. There is no universal number of hours that proves ghosting.

Check whether a reply was actually needed. “Goodnight” naturally closes a conversation; “Are we still meeting tomorrow?” asks for an answer.

Fictional example: you ask about Saturday, receive no answer for four days, then get “hey stranger.” Note the unanswered question and the return. If similar sequences recur, describe that pattern rather than guessing a reason.

The question is whether contact is reliable enough for your expectations. Someone can have a legitimate explanation and still communicate in a way that does not work for you.

The parser calculates average cross-sender reply gaps and counts reopened exchanges after six-hour gaps. The AI report may comment on disappearing and returning in the sampled messages.

A long gap can raise the average; it is not a certified ghosting event. The export has no read-receipt state, and calls, work schedules, or replies elsewhere are missing.

If you want clarity and it is appropriate, send one concrete question about the unanswered plan or your communication expectations. Choose what you will do if it remains unanswered.

You do not need to prove that a person is intentionally ghosting before deciding to stop pursuing contact that feels uncomfortable.
